Always a great experience to have Omakase with friends, food and sake. It appears the menu changes every month. Even when I visited, the chef decided to swop some of the dishes out for others. Nonetheless, the food was decent. My preference definitely falls along the dishes where fish plays a larger role. Less sauce perhaps or with a lighter touch so it doesn't overwhelm the meats. Service was good. Friendly staff. I notice a few regulars, tempting me to come back and try again. The atmosphere was good, though I prefer the lighting to be a tad dimmer.

Having just backed fr Japan week ago and already craving for Japanese food again. I was invited for omakase dinner with sake pairing, the sake from Ishikawa prefecture pair well with the dishes, it is smooth and not too dry, perfect for my liking. The seats are all counter facing which is great as we can view the team at work. The dishes were personably prepared by a Japanese chef and served by a team of assistants. They worked flawlessly to ensure all the dishes are served fresh and explained simply of the name of dishes, its ingredients & etc. There’s options for main course, needless to say I opted for the wagyu beef rice. The overall dining experience is excellent, the atmosphere is vibrant and lots of interaction with the team. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wishes for Omakase dining with a lively Japanese vibe.

Very good value set lunch - mainly chirashi and other types of don . Food quality is good and generous for the modest pricing - most items below $20 and comes with a soup and a rather tasty stew of fish and vegetables. Orders are delivered promptly and quickly and generally staff are all responsive and polite. Popular joint so expect a queue, which was not too long on the day I visited

Always fun to eat at Teppei. Food was delicious and the prep by the team was fun to observe. Many celebrated their birthdays in our seating. Nice place to have fun with family and friends on special occasions.

Teppei offers a great Japanese Omakase dinner experience. The place feels like a Japanese Izakaya with the bar seats at the counter. While it may seem cramped, it is also very homely. The dinner menu changes on a monthly basis. The October 2023 was a tie up with Nagasaki prefecture. The food is good as always. The prices have gone up slightly since I first ate here many years ago. But the service hasn’t changed much.

Reviewing the Omakase set. It’s probably my 4th or 5th time here, the menu changes monthly but not drastically. I love everything about this place, from the fact that it’s very small and intimate to the food (which for me it’s a very good quality - price ratio). Note you need to book in advance. One thing I miss is the house pour sake which disappeared from the menu some time ago

Japanese restaurant, sit at the counter style. Customer don't get to order what we want, foods were all prepared and served in individual portion. It's a 10 course meal. It's extraordinary and delicious. Staff were friendly, they tried to introduce every dish while serving, unfortunately I don't either understand their English or their introduction. The only let down is, the opened kitchen is a little messy and was not a pleasant scene.

[Aug 2023] Posting this after my third visit to Teppei in 6 months. Each visit is as consistent and pleasant as the previous. I appreciate the super efficient service SOP by the friendly folks (incl the auntie welcoming us and the chefs behind the counter). Diners make their orders while queuing. Comforting warm radish soup, ice cold green tea and miso soup await diners the moment they are seated. Teppei has been around since 2012, it impresses me much that the standards for their service and food remain top-notch while keeping the price affordable (rare combi of “best-in-class” and “affordable”). This is easily my top casual chirashi don place in Singapore, and I’m sure for many others too. Hope to see them around for decades to come. ❗️Recommend to arrive before the restaurant opens at 11:45am to avoid long lunch queue on weekdays (12pm on Sat).
